New England Pain Care’s Quality Services Recognized by the Department of Public Health

New England Pain Care is pleased to announce that it has successfully passed its recent DPH Clinical Survey with NO deficiencies. The DPH surveyed New England Pain Care over a three-day period in September 2017. Because of the compassionate efforts of our dedicated staff, the Surgicenter passed without any deficiencies and was also awarded high accolades for our Infection Control and Quality Improvement Programs.
The Department of Public Health conducts these surveys every three years with all Ambulatory Surgical Centers to ensure full compliance with the conditions of participation and guidance from the Center of Medicare and Medicaid services. DPH surveyors scrutinized all of New England Pain Care’s standards of care, policies and procedures, communication between patients and caregivers, infection control, quality improvement and much more. This included following a patient throughout their entire perioperative process from pre-op to intraop and finally through postop and discharge planning. Our patients, DPH pointed out, were treated with respect and dignity and that the staff worked together in harmony “like a well oiled machine”. The staff at New England Pain Care approaches this process with competence and confidence. Our success is dependent on teamwork and communication and it is also an advantage that they enjoy their job and coming to work each day. The surveyors noted the trusted relationship between clinician and patient and also between the staff members. The dedication and longevity of the staff adds to the outstanding care we provide to each patient, every day.
