We are excited to introduce our new Acupuncturist joining the Practice on July 28th, Eric Brooks, MAOM RYT.
Eric graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He holds a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). His training includes Chinese and Japanese Style of Acupuncture, Orthopedic Acupuncture, Tui Na, Qi-Gong, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He has practiced at several hospitals and clinics in the Boston area including Boston Medical Center (Boston), Lemuel Shattuck Hospital (Jamaica Plain), and the New England School of Acupuncture Teaching Clinic (Newton Campus, Worcester Campus).
Before attending Acupuncture school, Eric received his Bachelors B.A in Philosophy with a Certificate in Buddhist studies from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. During his undergraduate time, he decided to further his interest in Buddhist philosophy by going on a 2-year retreat at the Odiyan Buddhist Retreat Center & Monastery in Northern California. While living at the Monastery he studied the Tibetan Language, Tibetan style Yoga, and various other Buddhist Meditation practices.
Shortly after returning to school and graduating, Eric began his yoga teacher training with Triyoga Boston where he earned a 200-hour Yoga-Alliance-Certification. He continued his yoga studies in Nepal with a 500 hr training at the Himalayan International Yoga Academy and Research Center and also completed his training in Thai and Ayurvedic Massage.
Eric has a specialty in treating orthopedic conditions and enjoys a passion for helping patients to return to full health and wellness.
