1. Remember, that anytime you have any type of sudden pain, use ice rather than heat. Ice is always what you want to put on a new injury for the first 48-72 hours to alleviate pain and reduce swelling.

2. If you have lumbar stenosis, try to avoid a lot of back bending type of activities such as putting dishes away, overhead activities, or vacuuming. All of these tend to put your back in an Òextended positionÓ that will probably not feel very good.
