Benjamin Kripke, MD
Dr Kripke joined the Pain and Wellness Center in 2003 as staff anesthesiologist; raised in Boston, he graduated from Harvard College and Tufts Medical School. During those eight years of education, his research interest focused on the mechanism of action of thyroid hormone and he participated in basic studies for Lidocaine's submission for approval by the FDA. After graduation from medical school he trained in surgery and then anesthesiology at Boston City Hospital. After working at the Beth Israel Hospital, along with a faculty position at Harvard Medical School, he went on to serve as Professor of Anesthesiology at four medical schools: Boston University, UCLA, USC and New York Medical College. Clinical duties included Chairman and /or Chief of Anesthesiology for the next 31 years in Boston at the University Hospital, Boston City Hospital and Boston University Medical Center, as well as hospitals in California and New York State. He also served as Senior Consultant in Pain Management at the Lahey Clinic, before joining the Pain and Wellness Center.
Dr Kripke authored 33 peer reviewed research articles with special interest in toxicity of anesthetics and narcotic use.
He is married and has two grown sons. His greatest thrill and joy are his 4 vibrant and exciting grandchildren.
